Loan Policy
The herbarium specimens are available for researchers attached to an official institution recognized in Index Herbariorum or mentioned in the List of professional and amateur mycologists of Belgium and Luxemburg written by A. Fraiture.
To ask any herbarium specimen on loan, an official request must be sent to the director of our institution by regular mail or by e-mail.

Indications for handling specimens on loan
- The loans are allowed for a period of 6 months, unless special authorization.
- The dissection of portions of specimens is normally permitted. All dissected portion, of type and authentic specimens, including micropreparations, must be placed in a suitable enveloppe attached to the herbarium sheet (or box) concerned. At least one permanent mount of other specimens shout be returned.
- The annotation of all examined specimens will be made. The labels should be either placed within the appropriate packet or attached to the outside with a paper clip. Do not glue them in place !
- The yellow loan form is to be mailed under separate cover to the National Botanic Garden of Belgium at the time the specimens are received.
- Reprints of paper dealing with the results of investigations based on our specimens would be greatly appreciated.
